Interesting Facts: Alabama Santa Gertrudis Association (ASGA) was organized by a group of Alabama breeders of Santa Gertrudis cattle at a field day held at Carlton Larkin’s farm near Elba, Alabama in 1974. The association was formed by these dedicated breeders to sponsor its affiliate charter from Santa Gertrudis cattle within our state. This new association received its affiliate charter from Santa Gertrudis Breeders International (SGBI) at Ann Upchurch’s Grey Rocks Ranch near Salem, Alabama in August 1975.

Major Emphasis: To promote the excellence of Santa Gertrudis Cattle.
