Major Events: The Santa Gertrudis Breeders of the Carolinas sponsor an annual sale each year. At the Sale, there is also a membership meeting where breed related business is discussed and members of the Board of Directors are elected. Every year the Carolina Cattle Connection, a publication distributed to every member of the North Carolina and South Carolina Cattlemen’s Association, features the Santa Gertrudis breed in the September issue. Members of the Santa Gertrudis Breeders of the Carolinas are featured in articles in the tabloid. The affiliate also sponsors a field day each year at one of the member’s farms.


Interesting Facts: The sale in April 2009 will be the 36th Annual Santa Gertrudis Breeders of the Carolinas Sale, making it one of the oldest consecutively help sales in the breed.

Major emphasis: To promote the excellence of Santa Gertrudis Cattle in the Carolinas and in the United States.
