Major Events: Annual Premier Summer Sale in West, Texas in July each year, State Fair of Texas in October, the Fort Worth Stock Show in January along with the Premier Annual membership meeting and the Premier open and junior show in May each year in Athens, Texas.

Interesting Facts: First Affiliate to be chartered by SGBI, originally named East Texas Santa Gertrudis Association. The first competitive showing of Santa Gertrudis cattle was in 1953 at the Gregg County Fair. The first consignment sale was held in November that same year. The Texas Research Foundation in 1959 ESTGA changed name to Premier SGA, we were also the Association that helped put on the fist National Junior SGA show in Dallas and Waco, Texas.

Major Emphasis: To promote Santa Gertrudis cattle and Star 5 cattle. To commercial Breeder of all breed in Texas and the USA; we also put high in promote of our juniors and the Junior Association because of the junior of the future breeder of premier and SGBI.
