Save the date for the 2011 South Texas Pioneer Sale to be held in conjunction with the Rio Grande Valley Livestock Show and Rodeo on Saturday, March 12th in Mercedes, Texas. The South Texas Pioneer Sale will begin at 6:30 p.m. with some of the best purebred Santa Gertrudis cattle in Texas. Sale lotswill be consigned from foundation Santa Gertrudis breeders with a good selection of bulls, 3-n-1's, bred and open heifers, as well as quality Star 5 females. Victoria Palms Resort, a beautiful, gated hotel, will serve as our host. The hotel is located in Donna, TX at the Victoria Rd. Exit on Highway 83.
On Friday, March 11th the day starts with Texas State Champion Junior Santa Gertrudis show at 5:00 p.m. followed by a Star 5 female show. Sale cattle will be available for viewing all afternoon.
On Saturday, March 12th events start at 10:00 a.m. with the Texas State Champion Open Santa Gertrudis Show and Star 5 female show. Immediately following the open show will be the awarding the Texas State Supreme Champion Female, Bull and Star 5 female. We plan to have a good ol’ South Texas Bar-B-Que at the sale pavilion for our buyers and consignors to enjoy as they view the sale cattle.
