SGBI's Research, Education, and Marketing/Promotion Committees have developed and are initiating a LRP based effort designed to indentify top performing Purebred and Star Five Santa Gertrudis Bulls. A rigorous gain test is the foundation of the program and the entry date for the first test is quickly approaching. The entry date for bulls to be enrolled in the initial Elite Bull Performance Program is June 4, 2011.
PX Feeders, Evant, Texas will serve as the program location. In addition to conducting the bull test PX is offering several marketing and development options to all SGBI members, these options are listed in the Elite Bull Performance Program information packet.
It is the hope of the committees involved to offer a commercial oriented sale in the spring of 2012, following the initial test. In addition to bulls, replacement quality Santa Gertrudis and Santa Gertrudis influenced females are being sought. Please consider this marketing opportunity as 2011-2012 marketing plans are developed.
