Dear Friends,
It’s that time of year again; the South Texas Pioneer Sale is back! My name is Larry Garza and I would like to invite you to be a part of one of the most unique opportunities in our breed, the South Texas Pioneer Sale sponsored by the Rio Grande Valley Santa Gertrudis Association.
This is your opportunity to consign cattle and be a part of the South Texas Pioneer Sale. The sale will be held on Saturday March 10, 2012 in conjunction with the Rio Grande Valley Livestock Show in Mercedes, Texas. There will be food, music and a great time to visit with friends while viewing the sale cattle. The South Texas Pioneer Sale also provides a unique opportunity for our junior breeders to consign show cattle to our sale, as well as to purchase quality show prospects for up coming shows. For consignment forms click HERE.
Sale cattle may arrive as early as Thursday, March 8, 2012 but must be in place no later than Friday, March 9, 2012 at NOON. Nomination fees are as follows (all nomination fees are non-refundable)
- Females $50.00
- Pen of three females $100.00
- Bulls $50.00 plus (screening fee $100.00)
The nomination fee must accompany the nomination form and the information should be completed when submitted to the sale chairperson. A copy of registration certificate must accompany the nomination form.
The Victoria Palms Resort in Donna, Texas will again be our host resort. Located just minutes from the fairgrounds and the Rio Grande Valley Premium Outlets in Mercedes, Victoria Palms Resort has set rooms and suites aside for our guests. A Friday evening Dutch treat dinner and mixer is planned for Friday, March 9, 2012 at 6:00 PM at the resort restaurant for all to mingle and catch up. The Rio Grande Valley Livestock Show and South Texas Pioneer Sale promise you a great time and great cattle to buy and sell.
Enclosed is the South Texas Pioneer Sale Nomination Form and requirements. We look forward to having you participate and welcome you to the beautiful Rio Grande Valley this spring.
Thank You,
Larry Garza
